Meet Rodrigo
Born and raised in a charming Uruguayan neighborhood, Rodrigo spent his early years barefoot, climbing trees, and playing in the streets with friends. But even then, it was clear where his true passion lay - anything with an engine or that could float. That passion led him to maritime studies at university, and as soon as he graduated, he stepped onto his first vessel, beginning a career that would take him around the globe - from the icy waters of Antarctica to the North Sea and the sun-drenched islands of the Aegean.
Rodrigo’s professional journey began almost two decades ago as a marine engineer. Starting from the ground up as a mechanic, he steadily rose through the ranks to achieve the highest certification as a Commercial Chief Engineer Unlimited. His dual role as Captain and Engineer provides a unique advantage, bringing an exceptionally high level of technical expertise to complex vessel operations and crew management. Recently, his dedication to the guest experience and meticulous vessel care helped his crew win "Best in Show" at the VIPCA 2025 Yacht Show in the USVI.
His experience spans a wide variety of vessels, including cargo ships, tugboats, research vessels, offshore ships, and hybrid diesel-electric dredgers. This extensive background, particularly his expertise in high-voltage management and hybrid systems, makes him uniquely qualified to command and maintain highly advanced, hybrid eco-conscious luxury catamarans. Since transitioning into the superyacht industry nearly a decade ago, Rodrigo has refined his skills to meet the highest standards of luxury maritime service.
Rodrigo’s passion for the sea extends far beyond the engine room. Holding a commercially endorsed RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore certification for both Sail and Power, he is equally comfortable navigating diverse vessels. Whether he’s skippering, kitesurfing, swimming, or simply watching dolphins play in the bow wave at sunset, his connection to the ocean is unwavering. As a certified PWC Instructor, he also loves helping guests safely and confidently enjoy the yacht's water toys.
With a strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and the guest experience, Rodrigo brings exceptional leadership, advanced technical problem-solving, and heartfelt enthusiasm to every charter.

With a rich Welsh and Italian heritage, Alys grew up surrounded by incredible food and learned early on that the kitchen is the heart of the home.
Today, having completed a season in the British Virgin Islands as a chef, Alys bring that same warmth and lifelong passion to the galley. Having won 'Best in Show' at the 2025 USVI Boat Show, she spent the past season in the British Virgin Islands elevating high-end catamaran charters through unforgettable culinary experiences.
Alys' background in art and art history gives her a creative eye for plating, while her previous experience as a superyacht stewardess instilled a deep understanding of top-tier service and meticulous organization. The galley is truly her happy place, and she is thrilled to craft a unique, beautifully executed menu that makes your time on board a lasting experience in food and hospitality.
As a team, Rodrigo and Alys are excited to welcome you onboard Sea Goddess and can't wait to wine and dine you in the most beautiful bays around the British Virgin Islands.

The compassion and care extended to my husband, who is battling ALS, was beyond words. Rodrigo’s attention to detail at every location was incredible; he constantly went above and beyond to ensure Charles was comfortable, safe, and happy.
As a group of self-proclaimed "foodies," we were blown away by Alys. Every single meal felt like Michelin-star quality. Though she easily has the toughest job on the boat, Alys handled it with total grace and ease. Her menu planning was thoughtful, creative, and beautifully balanced.
While some chefs excel at cooking and others at baking, very few master both—yet Alys made both look effortless and taste delicious. To top it off, she accommodated our guests' food allergies without missing a beat.

Thank you for the incredible week. We were blown away starting at our first step on the boat by the welcoming crew and beautiful boat. Each day on the trip was accompanied by delicious meals by Elif, which were all well prepared, planned and full of flavor. While sailing Milla took the time to teach our group to sail and made us feel part of the crew. Our favorite stops through out the trip were Anegada and Virgin Gorda - Tipsy’s was such a fun spot! This will forever be on the top of our trips. We are forever grateful to have experienced sailing on the Apricity.
Thanks for the around the world experiences - from the drinks to the food to the cheers (cheers, skål, serefe, sagligimiza, kippis, salute, huzzah). While the wind was strong, we cruised right along. But you didn’t steer us wrong. All the stops were the tops, and the drinks really rocked. The meals were the deals, and you really set our mood, with the amazing food! The tables were set with blingy, and you gave us rides in your dingy. This trip went fast, but it won’t be our last.

We loved our trip so much. All the kids agreed that the two of you made it so special for them. From the fishing, to the extra dinners for our midnight snackers, to the special touches in between, they all had such positive things to say. My mom loved getting to know you both and was so proud of trying so many new foods! She left the boat feeling relaxed, which is saying something for her. For me, being able to totally disconnect and have all the decisions and tasks managed by the two of you was exactly what I needed for this vacation. We had an absolutely amazing experience onboard the Apricity. From the moment we stepped onto the boat, we were greeted with a smile and great food and drinks. Alys's cooking was delicious and exceeded our expectations. We asked for big flavor and she delivered! The fresh conch ceviche was the best we have ever had. We chose to eat off the boat two nights and actually wish we would have had Alys's cooking for all of our meals instead. Her cocktails and desserts also did not disappoint! The key lime pie and meringue dessert were exceptional. Rodrigo's knowledge of the area and sailing skills were impressive and helped us maximize our time in the islands to see all that we had hoped to see. Rodrigo helped us all feel at ease on the water, pointed out notable areas and fun facts about the area, and kept all the water toys ready and available. Together, Rodrigo and Alys make a great team. They took into consideration all of the things we had on our preference sheet and made us feel truly welcome on the boat. We would happily have Rodrigo and Alys as our charter crew again. If we return to the area and they were on a different boat, we would consider switching boats. Our favorite memory was snorkeling in the bay around Peter Island where we saw several turtles, rays, giant angel fish, and even squid! We also had a lot of fun at Soggy Dollar and enjoyed the beach games at Tipsy's Bar on Anegada. If we were to go again, we would probably skip the trip to Anegada. I must say that we had an absolutely wonderful time on our catamaran vacation, and so much of that was because of Rodrigo and Alys. From the moment we stepped aboard, they made us feel welcomed, cared for, and completely at ease. Rodrigo was an outstanding captain. His sailing skills, calm confidence, and attention to safety made us feel completely secure the entire trip. We were able to fully relax because we knew we were in very capable hands. Alys was equally incredible. Her meals could not have been more perfectly matched to our likes and preferences. Every dish felt thoughtful, personal, and prepared exactly the way we liked it. Honestly, if we had the trip to do over again, we would have skipped the restaurants altogether and enjoyed every meal onboard. This trip was AMAZING. The Apricity is a relatively smaller boat, although with 6 people we were completely comfortable. The multiple levels gave everyone a spot to be without us feeling like we were on top of eachother. The space was clean, easy to access, no weird ducking to get into the bedrooms (we had that on a prior boat and everyone hit their heads). Bathrooms were totally functional with a proper shower, vanity and toilet. The layout, size and cleanliness were great. The best thing about our boat was the crew. Rodrigo and Alys were so wonderful. Rodrigo was a great captain and also bartender. Super chill, very friendly, happy to chat about where we are, where we're going, recommendations on where to stop, alternative options for islands etc. Also, he steered us to shore at Jost Van Dyke unbelievably well- we were all amazed at how he navigated through the other boats. It was clear in the tight spots and also in sailing that he's a pro. My husband and I have been on 2 prior BVI boat trips and yet Rodrigo took us to islands we've never visited including one that was a group favorite. He was always ready and willing with the dingy transport and a quick pickup upon request. Alys was also delightful, very organized but also chill, friendly and interesting to chat with. We can't stop talking about the food she made- it was all incredibly fresh, delicious and the presentation was a 10/10. I have never in my life taken pictures of food, but we took a picture of every single meal- it was that beautiful (and also delicious). She was always appearing with a gorgeous appetizer or specialty beverage and her desserts were honestly... indescribable. We left the boat on Friday, today is Monday and we are still talking about how great they were and considering whether our next trip should be based on destination/location or on availability of Rodrigo and Alys. We have tons of great pictures of the boat and our trip, but mostly taken by my kids (and I don't have them) so I'm not posting any here but the photos online are very representative of the boat and layout- no wide angle lenses or photoshopping there! My kids have been all over Europe and skiing out west for years and they said this is the best trip we've done. Highly recommend.
You both made our week truly magical. Thank you for creating a once-in-a-lifetime Caribbean experience our family will always treasure. From the moment we stepped on board, the atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and fun. We instantly felt at home. You were incredibly attentive to every detail-balancing flexibility in the itinerary with a genuine focus on everyone's comfort and enjoyment. Alys, your meals were simply superb. The quality, flavor, and presentation were all outstanding. Each morning began beautifully with a fresh fruit spread, and your creative happy hour offerings quickly became a daily highlight. Two desserts stood out in particular: the Pavlova you so thoughtfully prepared for our anniversary - a meaningful tradition from your family - and the light-as-air lemon custard that had everyone asking for the recipe. Rodrigo, one of my favorite moments was hearing the squeals of delight as you towed our granddaughters on an inner tube around the bay. From the videos they weren't the only ones having fun. Your quick sense of humor and easygoing nature added so much joy to the experience. You exceeded our expectations in every way.
