Symphony Yachts was founded by Kristi and Jim Query, a husband-and-wife team who have built one of the Virgin Islands' most respected family-owned charter operations. With decades of combined experience in yachting, hospitality, and business management, they remain hands-on in the day-to-day life of the company — which means the people making decisions about your career actually know this industry, and they know you.

A Full Support Staff — On Shore, So You Can Focus on the Water We've built the kind of shore-side infrastructure that most charter companies simply don't have. When you're on a vessel, you shouldn't have to worry about what's happening behind the scenes. We do.

  • Fleet Mechanics & Technicians — Full-time, experienced marine mechanics and technicians maintain our fleet to the highest standards. Help is never far away.

  • Director of Crew Operations — Our crew operations director is your dedicated advocate. From the moment you join our team through every season you spend with us, she is in your corner — helping navigate challenges, facilitating communication, and ensuring your voice is heard.

  • Dedicated Charter Accountant — Each vessel's finances are managed by a dedicated accountant who handles budget reporting and financial documentation, so captains and chefs can stay focused on the guest experience rather than the spreadsheets.

  • Compliance Manager — Our compliance team manages vessel licensing and regulatory requirements, keeping your yacht operating within all applicable maritime and territorial standards.

  • Work Permit Support — Navigating the BVI work permit process can be complex. We've partnered with a trusted specialist to guide crew members through every step, from initial application to renewal.

  • Charter Vault — Our Proprietary Clearing House — Unlike many management companies that share a clearing house with outside operators, Charter Vault is our own — built exclusively to serve Symphony Yachts vessels and crews. That means faster processing, greater transparency, and a team solely focused on your fleet.

Yacht Stewardship

At Symphony Yachts, our vessels are not simply the backdrop to a charter vacation — they are the product. And like any premium product, they require constant, meticulous care from the people responsible for them.

We hold our fleet to a standard that goes well beyond routine maintenance. Every vessel in our program should be guest-ready not just on departure day, but every day — cosmetically pristine, mechanically sound, and fully equipped with functioning amenities and water toys. The details matter here. A sticky drawer, a fraying line, a watermaker that's been running rough — these are not minor inconveniences to be tolerated until the end of the season. They are issues to be reported and resolved, promptly and properly.

Yacht Charter Training Academy (YCTA)

Symphony Yachts is proud to partner with the Yacht Charter Training Academy — a fully online professional development program designed specifically for crewed charter professionals. YCTA covers the standards, expectations, and day-to-day execution of running exceptional charters, and it is a credential we take seriously when evaluating candidates.

Prospective Crew: Candidates who hold a YCTA certification will be prioritized in our hiring process.

Current Symphony Crew: YCTA certification is available to our existing team members as a professional development opportunity.
