Meet Your Crew

Warren West.jpg

Meet Warren

Warren grew up in a farm environment in South Africa, where he learned to work with his hands, leading to Agricultural college before entering technical college, where he excelled in sheet metal fabrication and welding.  After a short career in the metal industry, he had his first season in the Caribbean on a super yacht, a few seasons went by before he purchased a land based role on the mighty Zambezi and started his own off grid Eco Lodge with his childhood friend.

After a few years the calling of the deep blue had its a grasp on him again. That is the moment he traded the constant running of fresh water for the lapsing enchanting sound of salt water.  Ever since, Warren has taken pride in dedicating his day to day sense of exploration on the blue.

Bringing joy and happiness to everyone he gets the privilege of meeting, and floating with, while providing water sports over or below the surface.   In his free time he enjoys fishing, water sports, hiking, backflips and Tamara.

Meet Tamara

Tamara grew up in Switzerland and has always felt called to work with people. She studied physiotherapy at university and worked ambitiously in this profession for 16 years, 10 of which she ran her own business.

She has always felt drawn to the big wide world and has always longed for the sea. She followed her inner calling, left everything behind and has been traveling the world for the past three years.

She attended cooking schools in Thailand and Vietnam where she learned how to prepare delicious dishes with fresh local ingredients and present them in a colorful way. She loves to express herself creatively through cooking and arranging.

Tamara's paternal family runs a hotel in Italy where she became familiar with Italian cuisine and its delicacies at an early age.
She loves to spoil friends and family with new recipes and ideas and bring them together over food.

She managed a retreat in the Andes of Peru for 7 months where she was finally able to take care of people and their well-being again. She has conjured up a special menu everyday with fresh produce from her own garden. Tamara loves to create an unforgettable culinary experience with simple, healthy and fresh ingredients.

One of her greatest wishes became true and she got the chance to work as a Chef/First Mate on a sailing boat. Now she can combine all her passions while feeling the wind in her hair.

Beyond the galley, Tamara loves surfing, diving, wake boarding, skiing, biking, paragliding, reading, yoga, art and music. She can't wait to share her adventures spirit, joy, enthusiasm and bringing people together through dine, wine and blue.

"To say you provided a once-in-a-lifetime experience is an understatement!! Your hospitality, competence and warmth is truly remarkable!! This vacation experience was surreal and will live in our memories forever. So much beauty, laughter, and food . . . oh my goodness, the food! We will take this moment in time and treasure it always! Wow! First . . . you both are amazing! I read reviews, was all onboard, then . . . we had our trip. There reviews didn’t do justice! This trip was planned as a family/sibling trip . . . add in a few birthday celebrations, its the best trip ever. It was the best family time together. Liams conversation, history of the area, keeping us safe and making sure all was good was 5 stars. Keagan’s cooking - 5 stars - amazing! The food, the presentation - to the birthday celebration she put together. Thank you both - you are very good people that made our trip so special and memorable. Keep doing you and your love for this - you make it special. Cheers to you. When you have a trip like this and have the opportunity to experience so many new things it’s hard to look back and capture them all. My sister grabbed many. A highlight was the Liam private knot training session, very useful and fun!! We also had the opportunity to to throw up the sails watching Liam in his element was great. Keagan’s meals were perfect and tasted wonderful, she has a passion for food and its appreciated. To the reader of this . . . I may never meet you but hope that you had a fantastic journey as I did with this crew." February 2025 "Thank you for an amazing week on the Deborah Anne! You probably didn’t know what you were getting into when you created the Tropical Trouble Bingo, but this crew loved the extra and creative competition. We started the trip as almost strangers and we leave now as a happy little sailboat family. So many laughs and fun this week. We will be sad to say goodbye, but we look forward to another adventure soon. Much love from your crazy Colorado crew!" January 2025 "Our Deborah Anne experience was filled with laughter, activity and happiness. The crew were very easy to start conversation with and made the experience worth every penny. Liam’s knowledge about every island and each place we went to was very interesting. His knowledge in sailing was also amazing from having started very early. Some favorite meals from the week were the steak, lobster roll, duck and lamb. We will never forget this vacation or the memories we made on it." December 2024 "Thank you for all you have done to make our week beyond amazing! You both made us all feel right at home on the beautiful Deborah Anne. Liam – you have a love for sailing and teaching that has rubbed off on us. Thank you for sailing us safely there! Keags – Our tummies were always full of your delicious food. You are very talented and we will miss your yummy meals. Writing this the morning after celebrating Halloween at Foxy’s – so a bit foggy headed LOL. Cheers to you both – wishing you a wonderful season and we will hopefully see you again soon!" November 2024 "The beautiful Deborah Anne and the most amazing crew of Jords and Keags!! It doesn't get much better! Thank you Jordache for taking great care of us, for the best pain killers in the BVI, and especially for checking off one of my bucket list items - swimming with the turtles! Thank you Keagan for your generosity, your passion in each and every dish you served us! Best food in the BVI!! Thank you for helping me "chase turtles". We will be back!! Thank you for the best memories!" February 2024 "The Deborah Anne was everything we hoped for on our dream vacation. The cabins were comfortable and clean. Pay attention when they tell you about the air conditioning controls! The crew were amazing. Keagan's cooking was delicious for every meal. We loved the breakfast spreads, the lunch tacos, the BBQ with amazing potato salad. I think our favorite was the salmon poke bowls. We celebrated some birthdays and Keagan made it special with rum coconut cupcakes! Jordache was a great captain. We didn't have the best sailing weather, but he found us some wonderful places to pass the time. We enjoyed the Bitter End, Leverick's Bay and the Michael Bean show! That was surprisingly very fun! We very much enjoyed that Keagan joined us for the night. When the weather brightened up he found us the bay with all the turtles where we opted to spend the day on the floating mat and snorkeling! We had such a wonderful time that I'm sure there will be a second trip to the BVI!" January 2024
